Function:   Reimbursement Travel:   No Job Description:   The Reimbursement Specialist is expected to act as a liaison with the referral source, clients, and third-party payors and coordinate and manage the A/R for Critical Care Systems. Major Responsibilities:Obtain and verify insurance/employer information on each referral and enter the data into CarenetGenerate ship orders and pre-bills via Carenet and review for appropriateness and accuracyObtain required medical documentation from physician and/or hospitalPrepare and submit claim packages to third party payors on at least a weekly basisConduct appropriate follow-up with insurance carrier and/or responsible party for the timely collection of accountsCalculate and apply payments received, credit/debit adjustments and contractual requirements and determine a satisfactory settlement of each accountMaintain patient database, records, census and statisticsPerform designated financial review activities on assigned accounts and prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as required by managementInvestigate and document local payor information for company useMonitor trends, potential problems and report to the manager as appropriateProvide general office supportPerform other related duties as requested
