Job Description: The Reimbursement Specialist is expected to act as a liaison with the referral source, clients, and third-party payors and coordinate and manage the A/R for Critical Care Systems. Major Responsibilities:Obtain and verify insurance/employer information on each referral and enter the data into CarenetGenerate ship orders and pre-bills via Carenet and review for appropriateness and accuracyObtain required medical documentation from physician and/or hospitalPrepare and submit claim packages to third party payors on at least a weekly basisConduct appropriate follow-up with insurance carrier and/or responsible party for the timely collection of accountsCalculate and apply payments received, credit/debit adjustments and contractual requirements and determine a satisfactory settlement of each accountMaintain patient database, records, census and statisticsPerform designated financial review activities on assigned accounts and prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as required by managementInvestigate and document local payor information for company useMonitor trends, potential problems and report to the manager as appropriateProvide general office supportPerform other related duties as requested
